Meet Alyssa FINAL.png

I am a lover of all things outdoors, from skiing to water sports, exploring the lush mountains and dry deserts; from worldwide travel to simplistic tiny home living, all of life is one exciting adventure. August 2020 I married my best friend. He is my biggest fan, consistently pushes me to dream big, and is a huge reason this business is reality. It’s because photography is more than a creative outlet, or source of income, but something that makes me come alive.  Photographing people in their element, documenting love, and witnessing the joy in the couples and families I get to shoot is a privilege I don’t take lightly.

And if life has taught me one thing, it’s that it goes by way too fast, and that I haven’t took near enough photos to remember all the sweet moments it has held. I’m here to help you not make that same mistake ;).

Let me capture your adventure.

What to expect

When working with me expect to have some fun, laugh a lot (usually at my expense) and walk away with documented memories you will cherish forever.

During your shoot, my primary goal is to document you with your loved ones in what you do naturally, guiding and prompting you to be yourselves and simply have fun and enjoy one another. Along with some candid-type shots, you will absolutely walk away with those more posed, perfect-for-a-Christmas card type photos as well.

I’m a firm believer that moments of joy are what makes life worth living, and that adventure is a staple to a healthy life.  I am always excited to go on an adventure on our shoot, to explore and find the best locations that represent you and your loved one(s) the best!

About Quote FINAL.png

There are so many photographers, free lancers, and creatives thriving today. How does one stand out among the multitude, and how can you keep from comparing and emulating what you see consumers gravitating towards? Or keep from changing your product to match the current, ever changing trends? It can easily feel like a constant uphill battle, striving to be the best.

In this balancing act of moving my art towards something greater while avoiding the detrimental comparison that is a trap so easy to fall into, I’ve found the need to find something that sets me apart. What makes my photos, my art, something that is new, fresh, full of meaning? What is the reason I do what I do, what fuels me? What makes my art, well, art, and something beautiful to behold? What story am I trying to tell?

Life is beautiful: the hard times, the good times, the moments of celebration, two coming together as one, new life, families, as well as times of grief and pain, losing a loved one, or being there as they breathe their last. There truly is something richly beautiful and inherently valuable in each moment that reveals our humanness, the thing that separates us from all other created beings. The way we passionately love, intentionally interact, compassionately empathize and bond, and cherish the days we have with the people we love… All are ways we image the One who created it all, who created us all, and the One who meets with us in every single one of those moments.

I guess when I think about it the story I'm trying to tell is a reflection of the greater story that He is trying to tell: One of unconditional love that chases and envelops everyone it comes in contact with. One where moments of joy and hope are the anchor in any season life brings. One that is bright and full of color and life even on the darkest day.
